I am a passionate researcher in the field of urban climate, striving to understand how cities are evolving in the face of impending climate change. My work focuses on investigating the changing urban climate dynamics and the underlying factors driving these transformations. Through this research, I aim to contribute to the development of sustainable urban planning strategies that enhance climate resilience and mitigate environmental impacts.
Currently, as a PhD scholar, my research examines the evolving climate of Indian cities, with a particular emphasis on temperature and pollution patterns influenced by urbanization. I employ high-resolution satellite data, advanced statistical methods, and computational modeling to analyze these changes and their broader environmental implications.
Skills & Expertise
My professional skillset spans various technical and analytical domains:
Education
Ph.D. in Atmosphere & Ocean Sciences
School of Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (2019-Cont.)
Dissertation: "Urbanization and Changing Heat and Pollution Islands over Indian Cities"
Advisor: Dr. V Vinoj
Research focused on understanding the evolving urban heat and pollution island characterstics over Indian cities and factors contributing to their changes using high resolution satellite based observations.
M.Tech. in Climate Science & Technology
School of Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (2017-2019)
Thesis: "Urban heat islands over Indian cities and their changes owing to aerosols and clouds"
Advisor: Dr. V Vinoj
Completed coursework in physics and dynamics of atmospher & ocean, boundary layer meteorology, tropical meteorology and science of climate & climate change with a CGPA of 9.09 out of 10. Alongside my thesis project, carried out a review project on "Modification of the Hadley Cell and the Changing Tropics" .
B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

Graduated with first division. Carried out BTech final year project and an summer project at Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Reseaarch using CFD and CAD based tools
Professional Experience
Teaching Assistant - Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (2022-2025)
Course: Weather Analysis & Forecasting Lab | Modeling & Visualization Lab
As a Teaching Assistant for M.Tech (Climate Science & Technology) and M.Sc (Atmospheric Science) students, I conducted hands-on sessions on weather data analysis and forecasting techniques. I guided students in using MATLAB for processing meteorological datasets and visualizing weather patterns, while also demonstrating data retrieval methods and assisting in lab sessions. Additionally, I evaluated assignments and ensured the smooth execution of practical classes.
Training & Workshops
A collection of training programs and workshops I've conducted or participated in.
